Creating my artist's identity

My artists name is Eliblink Roberts

Location status- United kingdom, east London Chadwell heath

Ethnicity-Black African

Brief history- worked with wiz kid currently in England to promote his music albums and a song writer.

My artist is male

The clothes I would like them to wear is a snap back with baggy jeans and I would like them to have diamond earrings with a pink tint to them, however I don't want him to look like a hood rat, I want him to look sophisticated with a bad boy look, i would also like him to have that rich appeal so it can attract his target audience more and make them think he’s big super star and that he’s going to make it big, so these are the sort of items I would like to see my artist in because it will give him the rap star appeal. 

The type of typography I would like to use is a Nigerian theme, Because of his ethnic background and grime taste for music, his theme will be green red and yellow for a Jamaican type of feel due to the nature of is lyrics, however I would also use graffiti art as a text style for he’s fonts because it would add the feel of an Uk street artists and underground feel so for example in the image below this would be the font I would be using, I am also considering to give the effect of the graffiti to add to his logo due to the fact it can match his sense of clothes he wears due to a rap-star appeal.

The Mise en scène Theme I am going to add to my video, would be a chilled out mood adding a low lighting effect, with a red background giving it a more relaxing state of mind to be in for the viewers, However my lighting would depend on each part of my music video because it starts of slowly and then the pitch and tempo increase , so more likely so would the lighting as well so for instance the brighter it would get as the tempo increases and I might add flashing lights near the middle off it, so for instance in katty Perry California girls in this shot, you can see the lighting is bright and also uses a lot of props to go with the mood of the song. I will also have to consider the location of my music video because it will have to combine with my lighting and effects in the music video, I will also have to consider the weather and how I will get to my destinations. In the image below you can see how important the lighting can affect the mood of your shot so for instance the horse scene looks beautiful and a nice day out where as the middle scene gives you a feeling of a rainy day and depressed feeling inside, and the last shot gives you a party sense of a feeling giving you an excited mood.

The colours i would use as my artists identity would be red,green,black,yellow,white, the reasons i chose these was because, green signifies hes ethnic background because hes from Nigeria, and red signifies an emotion of a relaxed feeling and a good set of mind. The reason i chose white was because i can imagine my artist in a white suit as-well in designer classes, the reason i chose black was because it can reflect on a night club mood in the dark and reflect a late image. The reason i picked yellow was, to reflect a hot mood so for instance a hot place like Turkey or LA when its sunny.

 The imagery I get when I listen so his song is that there's a lot of girls involved, and a lot of sexuel dances going on as-well such as whining, I can also picture girls getting out of a limo one by one and there's six of them but what adds to there look is by the male gaze so they will have to wear something with a bit revealing cleavage or something like that. also i can imagine them being at a night club sitting around a table and having a lap dance but that's just me.I can also imagine fancy cars like a BMW, Mercedes Benz

Location reccies

Location Reccies

                       

The locations me and Halil have chosen to be in our music video is good because of the genre, style of music video and the also how it will look visually to audience, we think its suitable for our music video. The basement shisha lounge will be shown to us in the beginning of the music video as the actors meet at the lounge to get ready to go to a party. In the first few shots i will be showing how the location relates to the actors plus you will see a lot of good techniques in the camera angles because it would look more interesting than just having normal boring shots. The other locations and background we will have is green screen this is because during in the chorus we will have flashing scenes of girls just dancing by shaking and wining on Halil who is one of the actors in the music video. Here is would use a lot of close ups and mid shots to see the emotions and feeling that the song will give affect altogether. The other main location we will use is when we film at Monay’s party which we have already got permission off during the mid way point of the song. The location for this venue is old gradies nearby to chadwell heath which is good thing because it wouldn’t be hard for all the actors to get too, but the location is really good for our music video because it is a big venue and when it comes to filming on the day of the party the type of camera angles and techniques used will make the music video very powerful and interesting for the audience which helps them see the story in the music video.
